Hello Families of Grade 1,
Welcome to our Grade 1 class! It will be a year of exploring, growth and fun and I am excited to be a part of it!
I will share some things you should know and my contact information,
Agendas: This is a great communication tool between home and school. Every day your child will write a message in it. It may be about something that happened in school that day, a homework idea (like skip-counting by 10s) or a reminder about something that is coming up. The message will give you and your child something to talk about and we use it to practice forming letters. Please sign the agenda every night and have it brought back to school every morning.
Home Reading: Your child will bring a book home for him/her to read to you. Please initial the reading log and send the Home Reading bag to school every day. This extra reading practice makes a huge difference in your child’s reading progress. Thank you!
How to contact me: There is a special place on the right side of your child’s agenda where you may write a message. You may also email me at [email protected] or you may call me at the school before or after the school day, at 204-482-4326.
I look forward to working with your child!
